ʻAʻaliʻi, a multi-family residential tower in Ward Village, was built on the foundation of resilience—both in its design and in the spirit of the community it serves. Developed during the depths of COVID-19, the project sought to reflect endurance and adaptability, embracing the many ways resilience manifests in individuals, nature, and collective culture.
The art program was curated to interpret resilience through multiple lenses—whether finding it in the fluidity of water, in the songs of native birds, or in the transformation of reclaimed wood from the old Ward Village into new sculptural forms.
Each piece speaks to the power of perseverance, renewal, and connection, creating a collection that invites individual interpretation.
